We knew we were picking the right person to receive our free, full pass to BlogWorld & New Media Expo a few weeks ago when we chose Justin Sullivan. A home remodeler diagnosed with rheumatic fever and left to face a career unable to perform the taxing, physical tasks his profession requires, Justin was hoping to learn and grow into a role as a marketing person for his family’s remodeling business. But he didn’t have the experience or training to dive right in.
So we invited him to BlogWorld with a pass to get a boat load of learning from the great speakers and conference experience BWE offers. Little did we know, Southwest Airlines and the Roger Smith Hotel were watching and threw in flight and hotel accomodations, too. So Justin got an expenses paid trip on top of what SME provided. We can’t thank Southwest or the Roger Smith Hotel enough. Talk about members of the greater community of social media … those two businesses aren’t just businesses. They’re one of us.
Justin swung by the Exploring Social Media booth at BlogWorld yesterday to talk about the trip and what he learned.
Huge thanks to Southwest Airlines and the Roger Smith Hotel. They were already my favorites. Now, I almost feel indebted to them. I hope you’ll take that into account the next time you need to fly or stay in New York City. The Roger Smith has a great rooftop bar, by the way. And the food at Lily’s is quite good.
And thanks to Rick Calvert, Dave Cynkin, Deb Ng and the BlogWorld gang. Justin benefited from the pass in ways you all hoped when this thing was started. We all had a blast, learned a lot and had fun bringing the show to New York City.
And stay tuned! We’ll do another giveaway for BlogWorld Los Angeles in the fall.
